The Global Millennium Development Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) Organization in “Special Consultative Status” with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (UN), complements efforts by the UN and the international community in fulfilling their commitments to the Millennium Declaration signed by 189 countries in 2000 and in further agreements by the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG 17, “Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development”, recognizes multi-stakeholder partnerships as important vehicles for mobilizing and sharing knowledge, expertise and financial resources to support the achievement of the SDGs in all countries, particularly developing countries. To these ends, the Foundation launched Public Private Partnership Forum (P3 Forum) to provide a coherent framework through which key opinion leaders from the private sector can meet with public officials to explore the potential of cross-sector development partnerships related to Social, Humanitarian, Cultural Affairs, Equality and Human Rights.
In accordance with Special Measures Resolution (P3Res/SM) adopted in 2021, P3 Forum operates under an Executive Committee which works in conjunction with the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Members of the Committee are responsible for facilitating and overseeing the annual programming of events and activities, including budgetary requirements and fundraising through the establishment of trusts. Member pledges are also accepted directly through the foundation for which tax receipts are provided once such funds have been verified and approved.
